Item Description
Pamela McElheran has gerously donated a Mark Hobson Print:
Grey Whales: Heading for Cover
Mark once observed a grey whale cow and calf take shelter in the shallow waters of a kelp bed to escape an attack by five transient killer whales. The greys escaped eventually but the image of these huge creatures plowing through a tangle of kelp left a lasting impression that became his first underwater painting.
The print is 15 x 23.5 inches plus double matt and frame (with frame, 31 inches wide by 23 inches high).
(there is a small impression in backing paper (lower left) as shown in one of the images)
Mark Hobson is a well know artist who has a gallery in Tofino, B.C.
A selection of Mark's work can also be viewed in the entrances, resaurants, and rooms of the Wickaninnish Inn and the Long Beach Lodge. The originals at these venues are owned, however in some cases the giclée reproductions can be ordered through the gallery.
