Item Description

This vintage Native American necklace was most likely hand constructed by a Zuni craftsperson. This is a magnificent necklace and sure to be a showstopper and conversation piece each time it is worn.

There are 35 hand carved animals in semi-precious stones, primarily in a good quality turquoise that comes from various American mines; even the spacer beads are turquoise. Its cones and clasp are in sterling silver.

This chunky necklace weighs 111 grams, and it measures approximately 15 inches long from clasp to the tip of the centerpiece; the center critter, a bird, measures 2 inches long. Unclasped, this necklace measures 29 inches long.

In preowned and vintage condition. This necklace is slightly flawed — three of the animals are broken. Please see my photo with yellow pins next to the broken beads. This flaw does not affect wearability; I did not see the broken animals until I closely examined each bead.
