Item Description

Enjoy a 2 night stay at the historic Big Bay Point Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast overlooking Lake Superior!

Located 25 miles north of the historic town of Marquette and nestled on the cliffs of Lake Superior, rests the Big Bay Point Lighthouse Inn.

A great place for adults in search of a secluded retreat from modern life. This unique bed-and-breakfast inn is one of the few surviving resident lighthouses Inns in the country and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

For over a century, mariners have relied on Big Bay Point's light to guide them along this remote, dark and rocky stretch of Michigan coastline. Although automated in 1941, the romance and lore of the site are undimmed.

Hike, bike, Ski, or snowshoe along the shore, or on the many trails in the area. Experience the deep solitude and unspoiled beauty of nature at the lighthouse Inn.

In 1986, the two story brick building and its adjoining 60-foot-high, square tower were converted into a bed-and-breakfast. The inn has five guest rooms all with private bathrooms.

Guests enjoy all the conveniences of modern life with the exception of individual television and phones. In addition, more than three acres of lawn, 40 acres of woods with trails are at the disposal of guests.

Climb to the lighthouse lantern, 120 feet above the lake surface. From this vantage point, visitors can survey open fields of native grasses and wildflowers, dense hardwood and pine forests, the majestic Huron Mountains looming in the distance and the ever-changing face of Lake Superior.

Guest rooms located on the first and second floor all afford a view. A good night's sleep is guaranteed, but early risers may be rewarded with close-up view of deer, raccoons, rabbits, foxes, wild turkey and other assorted wildlife feeding in the meadow at daybreak.
