Item Description
Indie Film Fan Extravaganza!
Are you a fan of Independent film? Get a pair of memberships for two of the most iconic, fun, indie film organizations in the Boston-area: The Brattle Theatre and the Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film!
Celebrating its 30th year, the Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film is a grass-roots, non-profit organization that teaches audiences to view films actively. Their 30th annual Awards Ceremony takes place on Sunday, March 17 at the Brattle Theatre, with special guest honoree, Hirokazu Koreeda, the great Japanese director responsible for AFTER LIFE, SHOPLIFTERS, and this year’s MONSTER. The Chlotrudis membership for two will get you two tickets to the Awards Ceremony, and an invitation to a private post-ceremony reception at Noir at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge.
Run by the non-profit Brattle Film Foundation since 2001, the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square shows the best in classic, cutting-edge, foreign, and art-house films. They also show first-run films and new releases of classic films, but their specialty is a repertory programming format consisting of films from a particular director, genre, or subject shown over the course of a week, or on the same weekday throughout the month.
Movies have been shown at The Brattle Theatre since 1953, and boasts one of the last rear-projection set-ups in the country. Dual membership to the Brattle provides you 24 free passes for a year, and a $2.00 discount without the pass, as well as additional benefits. In addition, Brattle staff will give you a private tour of the Brattle's rear projection set-up for you and three of your friends.
