Item Description
"Moo 585" is a wonderful, soft painting of a cow spotted amongst the yellow aspens of the La Sals. This artwork comes framed.
Artwork dimensions: 9" x 12".
Framed dimensions: 15" x 18".
Margie is an artist who has passions for both painting and giving. A few years ago, she and her husband, Bob, decided that all of Margie's paintings would be donated to worthwhile causes. The Youth Garden Project is honored that Margie and Bob support our work.
The "Moo 585" Story
I love our federal lands. For so many reasons including wild and domesticated animals. I feel quite guilty that one of those is this sweet bovine featured in my painting, "Moo 585". Quietly and without moving, we checked each other out for more than a few moments on the Manti La Sal mountains when I met her a few days ago.
It's pretty clear that grazing on public lands has often been mismanaged and that the damage they have caused to streams and sensitive areas is real. Real and often irreversible.
But they are so dang cute. That is the problem I have.
I guess I will make up for that by sending this this painting to a worthwhile [cause]. Then I can continue to enjoy her - just a little bit more.
Painting from "Donation Art", Margie Lopez Read and Bob Read.
