Item Description
This primitive wooden masher, stomper, or pestle, comes from a Pennsylvania farm estate. It was likely used as a sauerkraut stomper to smash cabbage inside a stoneware crock in preparation for fermentation. There is a long crack in the entire "business end" of the masher. The handle is firmly attached. This piece has a flat bottom and will stand upright for display.
