Shoes worn during WNBA game September 7, 2024 v.s Phoenix Mercury. Shoes are Adidas Exhibit Select's, size men's 8.5, women's 10. Custom sneaker designed and hand painted by artist Breanna Berry.
Sami’s shoes highlight two non-profits in Seattle. Her first non-profit is Treehouse, who works with youth in foster care. The first shoe is blue, with the Treehouse logo on one side. The front of the shoe has a treehouse, with kids standing under it. The other side holds the statistic “youth in foster suffer from PTSD at 2x the rate of war vets.”
The second non-profit is DAWN, who supports victims of domestic abuse while they work to rebuild their lives. The second shoe is yellow and orange. One side of the shoe holds the words “rising for domestic violence" and the front of the shoe has the DAWN logo. The other side shows the statistic “1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced physical violence by an intimate partner.”
