Shoes sworn during WNBA game September 7th vs. Phoenix Mercury. Shoes are Nike Air Force 1's sized men's 10.5/women's 9. Custom sneakers designed and hand painted by artist Breanna Berry.
Coach Noelle Quinn wanted to highlight breast cancer awareness on her shoes. In particular, the reality that Black women have a 40% higher death rate when diagnosed with this disease. Both shoes are shades of pink, with breast cancer ribbons and hearts. One shoe honors Noelle's grandmother, who passed from breast cancer when she was 10. The other shoe includes the 40% statistic above statistic, along with the names of four women influential to the basketball community who have recently passed from cancer:Tiffany Jones Jackson, Simone Edwards, Tasha Butts, and Nicki McCray Penson.
