Item Description

The Buffalo or Indian Head nickel is a five-cent coin that was made by the United States Mint from 1913 to 1938. The coin is 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel. It was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser, based on a composite of three different Native Americans. The portrait on the nickel exudes great character and shows the rugged individuality of the Native Americans. On the reverse side of the nickel is a buffalo, a symbol of the American West.

This 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle, "Five Cent Piece" by the artist David Behrens, shows a number of Native Americans from the 1900's, a herd of buffalo, and the two sides of the Buffalo Nickel.

The puzzle is eco-friendly, made using soy-based ink on a recycled board.

Item Special Note

The "Five Cent Piece" puzzle is recommended for ages 10 and up.

The finished puzzle measures 23 inches by 28 inches.
