Item Description
The viewer is in the Central Park Boathouse, oriented from just before the dining room bar looking south, through the dining space, through the open windows, across the lake and row boats, to the southern shore.
The evening of August 21, 2023, was to be the first live-audience concert in Central Park after the pandemic restrictions were eased. A violent rainstorm canceled the concert, ironically stranding the photographer in a boathouse because of flooding. Because of the torrential rain, the free market determined that the going rate for a fully enclosed pedicab ride to the nearest subway was $50.00.
