Item Description
Join a small group on a leisurely climb to the top floor of the church's historic tower. Longtime clock-sitter Mike Flamang will lead a group of six up steep, sturdy stairs to the top floor to learn about the 19th-century clock and its recent renovation. On the way, pause to appreciate the pinnacle of Massachusetts bronze casting, the beautiful 1852 Henry N. Hooper bell that tolled the establishment of the Town of Belmont in 1857. Tour involves three short climbs, about 30 steps total, up comfortable stepladders with handrails. Upon descent, participants will receive a chocolate treat from Tick Tock Chocolates, Cushing Square. This local business took its name from its first home, the clock town of Waltham. No one under 12 years please. Price bid is for one person.
