Item Description
A simple design and playfully brutalist, this solid walnut piece is intentionally sized to be a comfortable side table or stool and is made from walnut that was salvaged just before being destined to a landfill.
Dimensions: 14” diameter, 18 1/4” tall, heavy
Material: walnut (hardwood)
About the artist:
“I have always been drawn to working with found objects and materials, and I am particularly drawn to rescuing and working with salvaged and reclaimed wood. I find the inconsistencies in wood grain and texture to be part of its allure and story, and I enjoy creating pieces that are clearly hand made and not from a factory. Perhaps I also identify with the misfit nature of this wood deemed “less than perfect,” or maybe it’s the motivation to help create less waste. Nevertheless, I’m grateful to be able to integrate the story of trees into people’s homes.”
Bobby McCullough, Brooklyn/Catskills- based woodworker
