Item Description
Group Syrian cooking class (up to 6 people, age 10+).
Spend an afternoon (approx 4-5 hrs) together cooking Syrian food as a group, in chef Maha's home, and then sharing the meal.
Participants walk away with:
~New knowledge of the rich history of food/ingredients in this region of the world over the last 4000 years
~New food skills found in ancient cooking techniques not used in the West
~A felt experience of the meaningful relational impact a communal cooking experience can foster
Join chef Maha for her new project, MishMish, which preserves the culinary traditions of Aleppo, Syria, a world food capital and her father's hometown.....as well as a celebration of the American immigrant experience, merging food cultures from both sides of a bi-cultural immigrant upbringing (Syrian and Costa Rican). Through shared cooking and eating of these foods, Mishmish aims not only to preserve food traditions in danger of extinction, but also preserve the ways deep connection with our food together can offer new forms of personal and collective wellbeing.
This package also includes a basket of carefully curated food and items to give a glimpse into the flavors and cultures to come.
