Artist: Karen Shortsleeve
Karen resides in Worcester and West Harwich, Massachusetts. She has a BFA and MFA and has over 30 years of experience teaching Studio Art and Advanced Placement Art History.
Karen’s style is Contemporary Realism and her subject matter is primarily seascapes, florals, still life, and portraits. Her preferred medium is oil paint.
She paints what she sees, but strives to capture images that touch the viewer in a personal way. In her seascapes and landscapes, she tries to communicate the feeling of being there- to capture the elusive space between representation and the emotions felt from the experience or memory of a place.
