Bruce D. Murphy is president of Community Development Banking, including Community Reinvestment, Community Development Lending, the Minority/Women's Business Enterprise Program, and the Community Reinvestment Mortgage enterprise. He also is Cleveland district president and Retail Banking executive for KeyBank.

As president, Murphy leads the Corporation's community development lending to small business, new home construction and renovation, and mortgage programs for low- and moderate-income communities. He also leads the Corporation's Minority/Women's Business Enterprise Program to expand opportunities for minorities and women-owned businesses.

As district president, Murphy directs the activities of KeyCenter sales and service, and coordinates Private Banking, Commercial Banking and Small Business sales throughout the Cleveland district, which includes the counties of Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Lake and Geauga. He was previously executive vice president of Human Resources for KeyBank, N.A.

In 1990, Murphy joined Human Resources for AmeriTrust, which later merged into Society Corp, Key's predecessor. Prior to coming to Cleveland, he spent 12 years in a wide range of both planning and operations functions in Retail and Human Resources at Mellon National Bank in Pittsburgh.

Murphy earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications and a masters degree in public management from the University of Pittsburgh. He has also studied at the ABA Graduate School of Human Resources and the University of Michigan's Human Resources Executive Education Program.

He is currently the United Black Fund's Board of Trustees president, a current board member of Recovery Resources and a former board member for the Leukemia Society and the Green Meadows Homeowners Association. In addition, Murphy is a booster for the Strongsville Athletic Booster Club and has coached youth baseball, soccer and football in Strongsville
