Frank Robinson, Jr., Chief, Risk Management Office, joined the staff of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Glenn Research Center (GRC) in January 1986.

As Chief of the Risk Management Office, Frank is responsible for management of safety, reliability and maintainability, software product assurance, and risk management for NASA GRC's Space and Aeronautics programs. He is also the Program Manager for the NASA Assurance Technology Center.

In his previous assignment as Project Manager for the Thermal Energy Storage Experiment, which was launched on the Space Shuttle Endeavor in January 1996, Frank was responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design, development, and test of the hardware and software. The purpose of the experiment was to provide data for understanding the long duration microgravity behavior of thermal energy storage lithium-fluoride salts that undergo repeated melting and freezing cycles.

Mr. Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University and received a Masters of Science degree in Engineering Management from Cleveland State University. In addition, Frank has also completed a one year Executive Training Program, and a certification program as a NASA Risk Management Trainer.

Mr. Robinson has been the recipient of many honors, awards, and certificates including the NASA Exceptional Service Honor Award and the Space Flight Awareness Award, James C. Jones Humanitarian Award, the USDA Graduate Leadership Academy's Community Service Award, the Outstanding Young Men of America Award, the YMCA's President's Award for Leadership and Service, inductee into John F. Kennedy High School's George E. Mills Gallery of Excellence, and was a nominee for the Black Engineer of the Year Award. Mr. Robinson is the National Chairperson of the National Technical Association and the founding Chairperson of the Consortium of African American Organizations (CAAO).
