Mr. Ong is active in the community, serving as president of MotivAsians for Cleveland, a non-profit organization focused on providing opportunities for community involvement and leadership development for Asian American professionals.

In addition, he is vice chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Federation for Community Planning; a member of both the Visiting Committee and Advisory Committee of the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs of Cleveland State University; a member of the Advisory Board of Cleveland Bridge Builders; a member of the deputy group of Cleveland Tomorrow; and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Finance Department in the College of Business Administration at the University of Akron..

His leadership in the local and global community is reflected in his selection as a one of "40 under 40" contributors to the community by Crain's Cleveland Business in 2001, and as a 2003 recipient of the American Marshall Memorial Fellowship, a four-week European study program created to develop knowledge and understanding of political, economic, and social issues in Europe and the European Union..

A native of Barberton, Ohio, Mr. Ong holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Akron.
