Although officially retired as a stakeholder in the firm, Ron regularly consults with clients in a number of areas, particularly in corporate reorganizations, financing, mergers/acquisitions and ownership succession. He also represents the firm in many public endeavors and is President of the Cohen Community Foundation.

Ron is well known for his advocacy on behalf of small businesses. During his career he served as President of National Small Business Association and testified before congressional committees. He was a member of the National Advisory Council of the Small Business Administration and has served on the Business Advisory Council of the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank. Locally, he has been active in the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE) where, in addition to other responsibilities, he served several terms as Vice-Chairman in Charge of Advocacy. He now acts as a mentor to many entrepreneurs and advises several start-ups in the region.

Other leadership positions have included President of Ohio Venture Association, President of the Cleveland Chapter of the OSCPA, Executive Committee Member of the AICPA Federal Tax Division and the Advisory Board of the CWRU Weatherhead School Accountancy Program. Ron remains a member of the Cleveland Tax Club.

Ron's civic involvement has been numerous and varied, including President of the Wahoo Club and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Ron has served as Treasurer of the Leadership Cleveland Alumni Steering Committee and in various leadership positions for the Jewish Community Federation. He was an original member of the Cuyahoga County Private Industry Council. He is a member of the Public Affairs Committee of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage.

His many significant honors include the 2000 Association for Corporate Growth Dealmaker Lifetime Achievement Award; 1999 Entrepreneurial Leadership Award presented by Cleveland State University and the Rotary Club of Cleveland; 1999 Cascade Capital Corporation Lifetime Achievement Award; 1994 Cleveland Chapter ORT Man of the Year; 1990 OSCPA Public Service Award; 1987 Crain's Cleveland Business Businessman of the Year; and Ohio's 1983 Accountant Advocate of the Year presented by the Small Business Administration.

Ron is a graduate of The Ohio State University and, after a year in Dallas, moved to Cleveland where he received a law degree from Cleveland State University. Ron resides in Shaker Heights with his wife, Marilyn. They have three daughters and eight grandchildren. Although Ron is interested in politics, his most avid hobby is sports. He plays golf and is a loyal follower of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
