Item Description
Signed hardcover copy of award-winning "Stalking The Divine-Contemplating Faith With The Poor Clares"
Stalking the Divine won the Best Nonfiction Book award from the American Society of Authors and Journalists in 2004. The Chicago Tribune called it "A captivating look at a cluster of forgotten women and ultimately a layman's examination of faith."
Rocky Mountain News selected it as one of the best books of 2003 and said, "Ohlson's tale is witty and wry, insightful and inspirational -- even for the non-Catholic, the non-Christian or those teetering on the heretical."
Ms. Magazine said, "In telling the stories of the shy nuns we glean Ohlson's immense writing talent. As she explores their diverse backgrounds, callings, and challenges to meet their divine mandate, we start to share her fascination and tender affection."
Kristin Ohlson is a California-born, Cleveland-based writer who's written articles and essays for the New York Times, Salon, Discover, New Scientist, Ms., Oprah, Utne, Gourmet, Audubon, Vegetarian Times, Tin House, Food & Wine, Poets & Writers, Sojourners, and many regional publications. One of her essays was published in Salon's 2003 anthology, Life As We Know It and another was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She is also the winner of an Ohio Arts Council fellowship for fiction in 2003, and her short fiction has been published in literary magazines.
