Item Description
Abraham Lincoln called her "the little lady who wrote the book that started this great war." Harriet Beecher Stowe, the most influential author of the nineteenth century, used her pen to change her world and ours. Her anti-slavery novel Uncle Tom's Cabin changed the way Americans viewed slavery and influenced the abolition movement before the Civil War. Stowe's 1871 Victorian Gothic revival home showcases the life of a women who was in many ways ahead of her time.
