Item Description

Excited Vineyard residents flocked to see the new resort hotel on Starbuck's Neck in the days before its grand opening on June 22, 1891. They marveled at the comfortable bedrooms, the gaslights in every room and the size of the public parlors. "Built on a generous scale", the advertisements said. The hotel is credited with beginning Edgartown's climb to fame as a summer resort. Then as now, guests enjoy the ambiance, the almost palpable history and the panoramic views from the Harbor View Hotel. This gracious hotel lies at lands end, overlooking the Edgartown Lighthouse and Chappaquiddick Island. Framed by historic homes of 19th century whaling captains and stately elm trees, the Harbor View Hotel is an example of the enduring heritage of Martha's Vineyard. A landmark since 1891, the hotel's sprawling verandas are lined with rocking chairs that invite guests to behold sweeping views of the sea and yachts of Edgartown Harbor.
Our package offers a two-night stay for two at this beautiful hotel on the sea.
