Item Description
Viewing Crash in Context: Hegemony, Double-Consciousness & Race
Jeff Symonds, Branson English teacher, will lead an evening of discussion and analysis of Crash, this year's Oscar winning film and the subject of a day-long conversation at Branson about race and ethics. (Ask your students; Jeff's lecture on Crash was terrific and thought-provoking). Dinner will be served, after which Jeff will give a presentation suggesting a lens for interpreting the film, show a few selected scenes and then lead a group conversation of the film. Participants should view the film prior to the event. $75 per person; 20 people maximum. Date to be determined.
