Item Description
Since opening Tallgrass in 1981, Chef Robert Burcenski and Maitre d' Thomas Alves have maintained the highest standards for cuisine, wine and service. Located in Lockport's historic district (about 40 minutes from Chicago), considered the best preserved 19th century canal town in the Midwest. Tallgrass is housed in a lovingly restored 110-year-old red stone and brick Victorian building. Rich fruitwood wainscot, warm original gas chandeliers, cut crystal and polished silver create a soft, glittering light and warms the diner's anticipation of the elegantly garnished contemporary cuisine to come.
Our package offers a "Chef's Tasting Menu" for two with a selection of wines, from highly acclaimed Chef Robert Burcenski. Be delighted with the inventive and beautifully crafted combinations of tastes and visual enchantments found only at Tallgrass.
Awards include: DiRoNA since 1992, 4 Diamond Award AAA since 1990, 4 Diamond Chicago Sun Times, Chicago Magazine "Top 20 Restaurants" 2003, Best of Chicago Zagat 28 rating, Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and more.
Idea! You may want to consider combining this with the Big Run Golf Club in Lockport package and make it a weekend getaway!
