Item Description
This 1998 Estate bottled Chalk Hill Merlot (Sonoma County) benefited from one of the longest growing seasons on record, allowing exceptional flavor and tannins development, while a small crop ensured intense, concentrated fruit. Traditional Bordelais vinification captured the essence of this exemplary fruit; light fining and no filtration prior to bottling preserved it. Concentrated flavors of cherry , blueberry, cassis, plum and chocolate mesh with spicy oak in a plush and persistent finish.
The 2003 Surh Luchtel Page Nord Syrah (Napa Valley) A warm summer and severe crop thinning resulted in intense and concentrated Syrah of depth and length. It displays complex aromas of cassis, blackberry, blueberry and spice. It is rich, chewy and dense with cassis, black currant and vanilla flavors, followed by ripe, well-integrated tannins that lead to a long finish. We believe patience will be well rewarded with this beast of a wine.
