Item Description

This 1998 Estate bottled Chalk Hill Merlot (Sonoma County) benefited from one of the longest growing seasons on record, allowing exceptional flavor and tannins development, while a small crop ensured intense, concentrated fruit. Traditional Bordelais vinification captured the essence of this exemplary fruit; light fining and no filtration prior to bottling preserved it. Concentrated flavors of cherry , blueberry, cassis, plum and chocolate mesh with spicy oak in a plush and persistent finish.

the Surh Luctel Mosaique Read Wine (Napa Valley) is an elegant Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot that was created with earlier accessibility in mind. Earth, fruit, and tobacco notes show up the nose, leading to a restrained mid-palate of dried cherry, plum, and cassis, framed by ripe but moderately chewy tannins. Underlying flavors of cocoa powder, chocolate, and orange peel round out the wine through its long finish. It shows intensity and yet is smooth.
