Tasting Notes:
Vineyard Notes:
The 2004 Croze' grapes came from Tenbrink Vineyard in Suisun Valley, just across the Eastern Hills from Napa Valley. Here, the daylight hours are just a bit warmer, without the cooling marine influence of the San Francisco Bay. Soil and climate are similar to South Central France, where Rosé is queen.
Production Notes:
Winemaker, Gary Wooton vinted these beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to make a hearty Rosé in the French "Vin d' Une Nuit" (Wine of One Night) style. In this method, after de-stemming, the grapes are left on the skins for one night before pressing. This dprouces deeper colored, more robust wine.Unlike most Rosé wines, which are drained off the skins as soon as possible after pressing, grapes for Croze are crushed and the juice left on the skins overnight, before pressing. This gives the wine its ruby color and rich mouth feel.
Winemaker Notes: "A hot spell in September brought the harvest in early and ripe--perfect for making a hearty Rose'. Steve Tenbrink grew these beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, especially for Rose'."
Food Pairing: At dinner, Croze' pairs well with lobster, poached salmon or roasted chicken. It is also a great compliment to baked ham or turkey. Mid-day, Croze' is perfect for a picnic, apired with salami, black olives, cheese and crisp apple.
Production: 416 cases produced
Other Notes: Released March 15, 2005
