Tasting Notes:

Vineyard Notes:
The 2004 Croze' grapes came from Tenbrink Vineyard in Suisun Valley, just across the Eastern Hills from Napa Valley. Here, the daylight hours are just a bit warmer, without the cooling marine influence of the San Francisco Bay. Soil and climate are similar to South Central France, where Rosé is queen.

Production Notes:
Winemaker, Gary Wooton vinted these beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to make a hearty Rosé in the French "Vin d' Une Nuit" (Wine of One Night) style. In this method, after de-stemming, the grapes are left on the skins for one night before pressing. This d
prouces deeper colored, more robust wine.Unlike most Rosé wines, which are drained off the skins as soon as possible after pressing, grapes for Croze are crushed and the juice left on the skins overnight, before pressing. This gives the wine its ruby color and rich mouth feel.

Winemaker Notes: "A hot spell in September brought the harvest in early and ripe--perfect for making a hearty Rose'. Steve Tenbrink grew these beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, especially for Rose'."

Winemaker and founder of Croze, Gary Wooton, began as a consumer, making wine at home. In 1997, Wooton formed Avatar Vintners, Inc. to produce handcrafted Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Avatar Vintners produced its first Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon using the Croze label in 1998.
Tasting Notes: Gary Wooton consistently makes delicious, well-balanced wines from vintage to vintage, and Cabernet Sauvignon is his specialty. This particular vintage is really delicious. It is super smooth with ripe strawberry, raspberry, and cassis flavors with a touch of vanilla and earth.

Food Pairing: At dinner, Croze' pairs well with lobster, poached salmon or roasted chicken. It is also a great compliment to baked ham or turkey. Mid-day, Croze' is perfect for a picnic, apired with salami, black olives, cheese and crisp apple.
