Purple Pearl Vineyards and Winery

Enjoy an enchanting afternoon for the senses at Purple Pearl Vineyards and Winery, one of Solano County’s newest Wineries. An Artisan Winemaker experience for eight (8) people, hosted by Purple Pearl owners, Rory Horton and Brenda Inman.

Rory, who is also the Winemaker, will guide your party from Vine to Wine, touring the vineyard (if weather permits) and the winery. "We produce less than 3,000 cases per year (that is very small by industry standards). We grow the grapes, crush them on the premises, then cellar and bottle the wine right here at the winery."

You will experience how a winery is born.

Purple Pearl Vineyards has 32 acres planted in grapes. Every part of the wine cycle is accomplished by hand at the winery, planting, pruning, and grape harvest.

You will see, hear, smell, taste and touch. Use all five senses.

See how they harvest and crush the grapes, cellar and bottle the wine. Hear how to make and blend wine directly from Winemaker. If you are interested in home winemaking this may help you improve your own wine. Or if you are a wine aficionado or a novice and simply want to understand more about wine you won’t want to miss this up close and personal experience. AND you will taste from the barrels and tanks that have not been released yet. Even their new secret wine.

Brenda, hostess par excellence, will prepare a delicious lunch for your party offered at the winery or in the casually elegant tasting room, depending upon the weather. Served by Brenda, you will enjoy a beautiful tasting of Purple Pearl wines, from White Merlot to Chardonnay. From Valdiguie to Merlot to Syrah. From their first release to their more current, sophisticated and velvety Special Reserve.

The winner will need to schedule the Winemaker Experience any time before July 31, 2007 by mutual agreement. Must give 2 week notice.
