While McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon at 50 Front Street across from the Common may have introduced itself as one of THE place to be and be seen at night in the city, just as importantly, they’re bringing Worcester another great dining option seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Manager Daniel O’Halloran, proud to be born in Ireland, has brought his mom’s sacred Shepherd’s Pie recipe to the McFadden’s kitchen and one suspects she made a contribution to their Irish stew as well. This hearty and delicious fare sets the table for a guaranteed-to-fill-your-stomach menu that features a 10-ounce Dublin burger, a Chicago blues burger topped with crumbled bleu cheese and grilled onions, the “real deal” Philly cheese steak sandwich, corned beef sandwiches, a classic Rueben, and a sandwich that sounds so good that it might turn you into a vegetarian if you aren’t one already: a veggie burger smothered in sautéed spinach and alfalfa sprouts on a whole wheat roll.
