Item Description
Beautiful graphite sculpture in the shape of a shofar, approximately 7" in length.
Sculptor Agelio Batle carries the spirit of nature's timeless forms in a series of graphite objects, of which this shofar is one such object. It was meticulously created in Batle's San Francisco studio through a unique process he invented. Carbonaceous graphite (mineral remains of prehistoric plant life) was combined with smudge-resistant compounds under intense pressure. The mass was then fused into the sculpture to be won in this auction. All the surfaces can draw and the graphite will resist smudging on to hands. Batle envisions this object as a sculpture, as much as an implement for inspiring your own vision.
Within the open crescent curve of the horn is the cradle of heroic strength. Symbolic of power in many cultures, the horn possesses the eternal spirit arising from acts of bravery and loyalty. The horn's crescent reaches beyond its bounds, continually overflowing with protective magic, without emptiness.
