About Attachments I
What struck me the most about my stay in Otranto is how the light, a light that blinded me at first, rejuvenated me and altered my choices of color -- it was as if my eyes had been dipped in a pool of clear water which washed away all the diet of preconceptions, weariness, stagnation.
The other Otrantesque elements that had a strong effect on my perceptions were the winds, at times warm and coddling, at others bracing -- the winds a giant brushstroke revealing the sharpness of the air, the land, the sea, clearing my mind to perceive anew.
About Camilla Trinchieri
Camilla Trinchieri has published seven novels. Her eight novel, The Price of Silence, is coming out in June from Soho Press. Writing brought out her old love of painting. She has studied at Parsons, The New School, the National Academy and at the Bau Insititute Summer Program in Otranto, Italy. She has had two solo shows--at the ING Cafe in Manhattan in 2005 and the Callahan Center in Brooklyn Heights in 2006.
