Item Description
Endy Chavez was in the Mets' minor league system from 1996 until he was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 2000 Rule V Draft. The centerfielder played for the Royals in 2001, the Expos from 2002-04, and split 2005 between Washington and Philadelphia before coming to the Mets for the 2006 season. Chavez had his best year yet in 2006, when he hit.306 in 353 games. Then, on October 19, 2006, during the sixth inning of Game Seven of the NLCS at Shea Stadium, Chavez made one of the most spectacular postseason defensive plays ever when he robbed Scott Rolen of a home run by snagging and pulling down a ball that Rolen had crushed and sent well over the fence. Endy Chavez has hand signed this 8x10 of him making that amazing catch. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
