Item Description
WINE- Andrew Geoffrey presents a rare bottle of their 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon, one of only six made on their property located on the highest slopes of Diamond Mountain. Diamond Mountain's reputation for producing world class Cabernet continues with the addition of Andrew Geoffrey Vineyards. Owner Peter Thompson carefully researched the area for years before purchasing 13 acres and planting red grapes with a desire to develop a state-of-the art vineyard and produce world class Cabernet Sauvignon. Thompson's exacting selection of rootstock and red grape clones, the area's volcanic soil, varied microclimates, generous rainfall, chemical-free well water and limited production have all worked in concert to produce exceptional wine. The first vintage was 2000; the 2002 vintage scored 94 points from Robert Parker. The 2003 vintage, with only 1,450 cases, is a muscular, concentrated wine, with deep, rich aromas and flavors of lovely briary berry fruit, laced with cassis and earth and ripe tannins.
