Item Description

GIFT- According to Robert Parker, "the finest glasses for both technical and hedonistic purposes are those made by Riedel. The effect of these glasses on fine wine is profound. I cannot emphasize enough what a difference they make."

Forty years ago, Austrian Professor Claus J. Riedel was the first designer to recognize that the bouquet, taste, balance and finish of wines are affected by the shape of the glass from which they are drunk.  Introduced in 1986, Vinum was the first machine-made series of glasses in history to be based exclusively on the characteristics of quality, reasonable price and wide distribution. These glasses have proved to consumers and restaurateurs that the pleasure of consuming wine starts with the glass. The Vinum collection, developed by George Riedel on the principle that the content commands the shape, is the Vinum-Vinothek for every day use. Vinum is made of over 24% lead crystal.

Amadeo, a beautiful and elegant decanter, is a masterpiece of glass blowing art in 24% lead crystal. The unique shape and design is so challenging that only the most experienced master glass blowers can produce it, hence only a limited quantity is available.

On the subject of decanting wines, Christian Moueix of Chateau Petrus and Dominus Estate says, "I prefer to decant wines, both young and old. It is a sign of respect for old wines and a sign of confidence in young wines."
