Item Description
Born and educated in London, England, Dr. McGibbon immigrated to the U.S. in 1966 to pursue training in plastic surgery. Later appointed to the teaching staff at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Hospital and as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at GBMC. He retired in 2002 to spend full-time as a professional artist. Over the years he has studied at the Schuler School in Baltimore, as well as with Daniel Greene, renowned portrait painter, and with other well-known artists in the fields of oil and watercolor. He has won awards for his work in both mediums. He is a Signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, Portrait Society of America, Salmagundi Club of New York, MD Plein-Air Painters, Oil Painters of America, and Charcoal Club of Baltimore.
