Item Description

LIFESTYLE, OR- Enjoy a day in July or August of 2008 blending the Bergstrom Vineyard Pinot Noir Designate Blend 2007 with a group of from two to six people.  You will receive a case of this 2007 blend. Following your day at the winery in Newberg, you will have dinner with us at The Painted Lady Restaurant in Newberg, one of the best restaurants in Oregon, and taste a 5-year vertical of Bergstrom wines, 2002 - 2006.

John and Karen Bergstrom moved to Dundee from Portland in 1997, acquiring 15 acres of land in the Dundee Hills. Planted entirely to Pinot Noir, the wine debuted in 2001, the 1999 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir made from four different sites in the Dundee Hills. Josh Bergstrom, their son, is winemaker and vineyard manager. In 2000 they expanded their production to include Chardonnay and Pinot Gris as well as older Pinot Noir vines. The winery, which was completed in 2001 sets on the crest of the hillside on Calkins Lane in the Chehalem Valley, a short drive from either Carlton or Newberg. The Bergstrom family vineyards are hand-farmed using sustainable agriculture and organic practices. Regarding purchased grapes, they have strict contracts with other growers to control yields and farming practices in order to ensure that only the best and most concentrated fruit comes out of the vineyards and used in their wines.

The Painted Lady Restaurant is the hottest new culinary spot in Oregon's wine country. Located in Newberg, Oregon, The Painted Lady blends old school culinary technique with innovative color and a contemporary flair in a charming Victorian setting.

Wine Spectator tasted the 2005 vintage of the Bergstrom Pinot Noirs earlier this year and scored all the wines from 89 -93.
