Item Description
WINE- Named 2005 Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator, Joseph Phelps Insignia, rating 96 points, was called one of California's greatest success stories, and Insignia, a tribute not only to the great wines of Bordeaux, as expressed by Napa Valley grapes, but also to one man's determination and another's winemaking skill. When Joseph Phelps produced his first Insignia, in 1974, it represented a radical new approach to Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, with the label not identifying any varietal. Now, some 30+ vintages later, Insignia is recognized as one of Napa's signature red wines and routinely one of its finest. It has earned an outstanding score in 26 of 29 vintages. James Laube says the 2002 is profoundly rich and opulent, relying on Cabernet for its density and color, tannic strength and power, while rounded texture and structure are derived from Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot - a genuinely breathtaking wine.
-One 1.5L bottle of 2002 Joseph Phelps Insignia
