Item Description
WINE- Paraduxx, one of the Duckhorn Wine Company family, is a boldly elegant Napa Valley Red Wine, fusing the robust flavors of California's native Zinfandel with the grandeur of Cabernet Sauvignon. The Wine News gave it 92 points. The wine shows spice, mocha, nuts, earth, ripe raspberries, cherries, blackberries, black pepper and velvety, well-integrated, oak-laced tannins. For the 2004, a small percentage of Merlot was added to the mix.
Pillar Rock is a fine, boutique wine from the famed Stags Leap District, with elegant and supple wine produced from 40-year-old vines. The 2004 Pillar Rock Cabernet is refined and forward, lusciously textured, with a medium rich body that will age gracefully for at least two decades.
What began as a few acres of vines solely to make a home wine, grew quickly into a full-fledged vineyard. The venture began in 1992 when famed chef/restaurateur/restaurant developer, Pat Kuleto, purchased an 800-acre ranch, east of Rutherford high in the hills above Napa Valley. About 10% of the steep hillside was perfectly suited to growing Kuleto's favorite grape varieties. Kuleto's Cabernets are intensely varietal, spicy, floral and rich, classically structured, with smooth tannins and good length.
The Ehlers Estate name, a non-profit philanthropic entity for cardiovascular research, produces limited, classic, estate-grown wine. Their 2004 Cabernet, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot has a luscious core of fruit that is intense, elegant and finely balanced, showcasing plum, mocha, spice, dark currant and maple.
