Item Description
This photograph was taken during the Summer Solstice of 2006 and features one of Cape Ann's most historic landmarks, the Twin Lights of Thatcher Island. It stands strong on its own or can be displayed as a diptych with Hamilton's other listed photograph, Item 115, taken during Winter Solstice 2006.
Hamilton writes, "I took the
images as a way to study the movement of sun from
Summer into Winter at Long Beach, Rockport. The
contrast of low tide reflecting the orange pre-dawn
light and the high tide with a gray cloud blanket
after sun up shows the striking difference of the
seasons."
This is an 8x10'' photograph signed and matted with off-white archival matting in an 11x14'' black metal frame, valued at $200.
