Newspaper Reporter/Editor for a Day - Vacaville Reporter.
What a great opportunity for an aspiring writer! Or just because you want to meet all the folks at the Vacaville Reporter. For you or for your Special Someone.
- You'll report directly to the Vacaville Reporter Editor, Diane Barney.
- You'll receive a tour of the Newspaper, all of its departments.
- Then Mrs. Barney will assign you to "shadow" one of the reporters on staff.
- You will watch and learn as they cover and write the stories that will be tomorrow's headlines.
- Take notes about your adventure.
- You will write a story about your day as a Newspaper reporter/editor.
- You will turn it in to the Editor by the end of your "day".
- It will be edited for inclusion in the paper as the "news of the day" permits. You will receive an edited copy to keep.
- Maybe you'll even get your picture in the paper as Solano Community College Foundation auction winner and aspiring news reporter.
- You will sit in on the editorial staff meeting as they select the stories for print and decide tomorrows headlines. You'll listen and discover how news is "made".

Item Special Note
The auction winner will need to contact Vacaville Reporter, Editor, Diane Barney, to schedule the "day" within one month of the auction close. Your "day" will be at a mutually convenient time and will expire on October 31, 2008 if not used.
