Item Description

This is a fantastic item!  Award wining artist and member of the RAA, Robert W. Duffy, will create an 18" x 24" oil painting from your photograph of your favorite sportsperson or sporting scene. Or, insert your favorite person into one of his colorful and impressionistic landscapes. He'll even include your dog! Imagine what a fantastic gift this would be for your favorite fly fisherman, hunter or outdoorsman!

Robert W. Duffy has won numerous awards, including the C.F.O. Orvis Sporting Art Award.  In addition to the RAA, he is a member of the Oil Painters of America, Academic Artists, Hudson Valley Art Assoication, New England Watercolor Society, New England Fly Tyers and he's a signature member of the New England Plein Air Painters.

Robert Duffy graduated from The Worcester Art Museum School and Clark University, followed by a Masters degree at Worcester State College. He lives in Worcester, MA, and this central location gives him opportunity to make daily painting trips which can range from the Rhode Island Coast to the Berkshire Mountains, additional longer trips are made to Northern Vermont, Bar Harbor in Maine, and the White Mountains in New Hampshire. His paintings are in private and corporate collections, and he shows work in galleries in all of the New England States, plus a gallery in South Dakota. Locally, he enjoys painting a small wooded stream, the Quinapoxet River especially in the winter.

According to Duffy, plein air painting offers the artist opportunity to observe and paint the effect of light on the changing landscape. "The light creates effects that are sometimes very subtle, at other times very dramatic; depending on the time of day and the season. I like to paint the dramatic effect caused by the sun, clouds, and changing shadows on the snow covered landscapes."
