- Opening Bid
- 100 USD
Item Description
This exotic Japanese brush painting features a small bird perched on a cherry blossom branch. The red square is an intaglio signature stamp pressed onto the paper by the artist. Asian artwork such as this is painted on scrolls of rice paper using Chines black ink and watercolors. The painting measures 10.5x37" and offers a tasteful oriental flare to any room.
"In China, the cherry blossom is a symbol of feminine beauty. It also represents the feminine principle and love in the language of herbs. In Japan, cherry blossoms symbolize the transience of life because of their short blooming times. They have also come to represent clouds of their nature of blooming en masse." (wikipedia.org)
