Item Description
This auction item is a 35mm photograph by RAA Photography Member Lois E. Brynes, titled "Coming About - Gloucester Schooner Race". This photograph documents one of Gloucester's many historic traditions and would make a wonderful gift item for any lover of Cape Ann. It measures 22 3/4"x30 1/2" framed and is ready to hang in your home.
A natural history photographer, Lois Brynes lives in Rockport. Her photos have been widely published.
Lois’ recent exhibit – A Walk Through Time: The Evolution of Life on Earth – is currently on tour through the Foundation for Global Community. Translated into eight languages, the Walk has appeared in over 80 museums, universities and public parks in the US, Europe, Japan and North Africa.
In academic, museum and public program settings, Lois works to evoke an appreciation for the deep connections of Earth life – the natural history of life through deeptime (geologic time) and the continuity of life across the planet today.
Says Brynes, “For me, nature photography is not about technique nor equipment, it is simply about seeing.”
