Item Description

Lowell Pettit, founder and director, is a NYC-based art consultant and independent curator. Born and raised in Manhattan, he began frequenting galleries and museums at an early age, and has been intimately connected to the art scene as an advisor, educator, and collector. Since graduation from Wesleyan University in Studio Art and Art History, he has worked in several galleries and museums, taught art in public school through the Guggenheim Museum's outreach program "Learning Through Art," collaborated with a number of internationally recognized artists, and conducted art tours for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sotheby's Institute of Art, and a number of top corporations, foundations, and universities. His background working as both an artist and a dealer, and with galleries and museums uniquely informs an awareness and deep appreciation for the complex relationships in the art world.
