Item Description

For lovers of local history, this package includes a 1-year family grandparent level membership to the Museum of Wayne County History. Membership package includes free admission for 2 adults and related children under the age of 18; 10% off purchases in the museum gift shop; and admission to invitation-only special events. This package also includes a collection of books on and about Wayne County including: A Gathering of Memories; Figured & Fancy: Weavers of Wayne County, New York; A History of the Wayne County Jail 1856-1960; Wayne County Cobblestone Architecture; Wayne County Looking Back; The Doors of Wayne County with poster; Williams Updated History of Butler Township; ABC's of Wayne County; Savannah: A Pictorial History; Pre-History of Savannah New York Area; Tall Tales and Tattletales; Sodus Shaker Community; Seth Cole and an ink drawing of the museum by local artist Judi Shumway.
The Museum of Wayne County History, operated by the Wayne County Historical Society, is housed in the 1856 county jail and sheriff's residence. The museum's collection covers all 15 towns of Wayne County and includes Erie Canal artifacts, agricultural equipment, Civil War weapons, Lyons pottery, Clyde glass, and crime-related items. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $2 for students and $4 for adults. www.waynehistory.org. Winning bidder will receive a certificate from WXXI which will be turned in to the museum where he/she can pick up the books and fill out paperwork for membership .
