Naum Katsenelson matured as an artist in Moscow, Russia. He graduated from the Russian Navy Academy in electrical engineering, earned his PhD, and worked as a professor for many years. Naum moved to the US in 1991. Famous in his own country, Naum has been collected in important international museums and in private and public collections in many countries including Japan, Finland, USA, Ukraine, Estonia, Israel, and Russia. This mask, "Homage to Mattise-The Bathers," is an interpretation of Henri Mattise's famous painting by our local abstract artist, Lela Kay. Lela has exhibited her work in many juried shows, including the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. She is represented by local galleries here in Denver. Her work is owned by corporate and private collectors around the U.S.
