LeAnn Rimes grew up in Texas, appeared in talent shows and recorded her first album on a small independent record label at age 7. Her second album, at age 11, featured her rendition of the song "Blue," which caught the attention of record company executives and disc jockeys and became a national hit, making her a country music star by the time she was 13. She since has won two Grammy Awards and numerous other honors. She also has appeared in movies and has written books for children. She was chosen to sing the theme song "Light the Fire Within" for the opening ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
