Teacher
Item Description
Whitney Heffelfinger, a teacher in Douglas County high schools for 10 years, enjoys experimenting with ceramic glazes and seeing their affects on the clay surface. Her mask includes an image of a tree representing hope, as trees lay dormant through winter and bloom again in early spring. "This tree is a symbol of hope to those family members who continue living the cycle of life without a loved family member," she says.
