Item Description
After taking early retirement from the software industry, D. Ann Schneider turned to pottery which she has done for 10 years. A recent design class renewed her interest in drawing and painting. She is a member of the Potters Guild and the Greater Castle Rock Art Guild and her art is carried by galleries in Maryland. When she viewed her mask upside down, the raised area suggested a tree which she believed was a fitting symbol for hospice. The tree's yearly cycle suggests our life cycles, she says. She chose to depict spring/summer because of the way hospice care can renew the spirit and bring hope to those at the end of their lives.
