Colorado artist Tara Stoneburner's mask represents the Greek Classical Elements - Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Idea - that persisted through the Middle Ages and into the Renaisance, deeply influencing European thought and culture. A native of Central Lake, Mich., Tara moved to Colorado in 1994 to earn BFA degrees in photography and art education from Colorado State University. While teaching art and music for six years in Englewood, she attended the University of Denver, earning a Masters in Creative Writing. When not traveling or enjoying Colorado's outdoors, she teaches art in Cherry Creek at the elementary level and is a volunteer at Urban Peak.
