Item Description
Michelle and Dennis Smestad, who opened Biondi Diamond Jewelers in 1989, created "The Jewelers Mask," which includes a collection of gem stones valued at $5,000, representing loved ones who have died in hospice care. The Smestads support The Denver Hospice after Michelle's father died in hospice care. The compassionate loving care inspired Michelle to seek other independent jewelers in her organization to create a one-of-a-kind mask incorporating gem stones into the design. Biondi received an overwhelming response reflecting a common admiration, respect and love for hospice. Michelle and Christy Hanson created the mask of fimo clay. It is encrusted with 500 carats of gem stones including fine blue, orange and yellow sapphires, colored garnets, amethysts, opals, pearls, ametrine, citrine, peridot, topaz, emeralds, tourmaline, onyx.
